Daily Blossom

new-river-gorge

Hey everyone, it’s Friday!  These flowers were blooming last June in West Virginia, along the path to a scenic overlook near the New River Gorge Bridge.  The bridge is the second highest in the country and the longest single-arch steel bridge in the western hemisphere.  Once a year they close the bridge to through traffic and hold Bridge Day – a mecca for base-jumpers. I can’t even imagine jumping off of the 876 foot high bridge, but it’s quite a thing to see the hundreds that do!  The view from the bridge is breathtaking – if you ever get a chance to head that way jump on it! (or off it if you’re brave!).
